After an exceptionally long and grey winter, Spring is just around the corner and the first glimmer of warmer weather and new life is beginning to show. If you have been hiding away for the winter and snuggled up in a blanket on your sofa, you may have not had the motivation to even look at whether you want to consider any updates to your home for the year ahead. However, spring tends to be the time when we start opening our windows and letting the sunshine in and look at any interior design changes we want to make. Alle Interiors are here to help you with our top five interior design trends you can still implement for 2025.
We may already be in March, but that doesn’t mean we cannot still look at the trends for 2025 and see which of these we may like to introduce to our homes over the next few months; especially as we start socialising more both in our homes and in our outdoor spaces. Updating your home interior does not mean completely revamping your home every year, but it is more the opportunity to view the latest trends and visualise how they could work in your home alongside your existing style.
It always helps to look at whether a particular trend you like will work for you and complements the age or style of your home, as a well-designed home should always tell your individual story and reflect your personality rather than just being ‘on-trend.’ One trend which has been popular for years and is now definitely on its way out is all-white interiors, as people now prefer their homes to feel alive and personal to them filled with pieces that have history, character, and personality.
1. Statement hallway
Your hallway may be the first point of contact visitors see when they come to your home; but that does not mean it needs to be boring. It can offer the opportunity to test out vibrant colours, patterned runners, statement feature lights and try an elaborately tiled floor that might feel too much in the other rooms that you spend more time in.
2. Nods to nature
We all know that natural materials bring warmth and texture, and this is where stones, woods, and natural fibres can give spaces a sense of history and grounding. This goes back to bringing the outside world in and joining your outdoor space – whether that is a small patio or a considerable garden – with your indoor space. Try integrating nature into the built environment; especially if you live in an urban setting by using larger indoor plants, living walls, and by introducing natural materials like stone, wood, and clay.
3. Unfitted kitchen
Over recent years we have seen the trend for uniformed fitted kitchens with integrated appliances, but the latest trend is for the unfitted kitchen, where everything is personal and layered, and added to over the years. Think freestanding butcher’s blocks, vintage sideboards, and mismatched chairs, where you can swap different items in and out as you prefer.
4. Mixed metals
A big trend this year is to mix different wood types and finishes with metals to create depth and authenticity. By combining textures and tones it makes spaces feel lived-in and as if they have come together naturally over time, not just put together to look perfect.
5. Jewel tones
2025 is all about embracing colour again like never before, but not super bright colours, instead think rich, deep, sensual, understated jewel tones of emerald and yellow (which came back into fashion in 2024). These strong, lush colours can be used not just on your walls, but also in furniture and accessories including our tableware.
