However, as an Interior Designer nothing quite beats seeing the actual physical furniture, soft furnishings, art and statement pieces in the flesh and being able to touch and feel them at a design fair, show or exhibition. Part of an Interior Designer’s job is to advise clients on which styles and trends would work for their homes and this is why it’s essential that Alle Interiors attend a number of different events throughout the year. It not only helps to stimulate our creative vision, but lets us picture how products will look in our clients homes. It doesn’t matter if you are a professional or a homeowner looking to build or refurbish a home, you will always find new ideas and solutions to most interior design problems by attending design shows and exhibitions. It also gives you access to displays from companies who may not be in your local area; meaning you can explore new materials, accessories, and interior design ideas. Interior design is a constantly evolving area and it is important to keep up with the emerging trends each season as what was ‘in fashion’ a few years ago may not be considered fashionable anymore. Textures, shapes, and colours can also look completely different in a magazine to how they look in person and after attending a design event, you will not only gain new ideas but also perhaps that perfect sofa or a statement piece that you are seeking for a project.
