Spring is just around the corner and we are all dreaming of warmer days where we can throw the windows and doors open and enjoy the sunshine spilling into our homes. As Charles Dickens once said “Spring is that time of the year when the sun feels like summer, and shade feels like winter – all at once” – which is very true. Although the weather isn’t playing ball at the moment, it still doesn’t hurt to plan ahead and get your home interior and outdoor area ready for the new season so, when it does warm-up, you can relax and enjoy it. As the mornings get lighter and the evenings longer, we can start to put away the cosy winter blankets and throws and open our homes up to the bright spring light. Just changing a piece of furniture or updating some accessories can give a whole new look, along with moving the furniture around in a room. During the winter we tend to arrange our furniture around a focal point like a fire, or position it so it doesn’t block any radiators to keep it warm and cosy. Then as the sunshine and warmth returns, it tends to be moved back towards the windows to enable us to enjoy our garden views.
